Who Are We?

We are an average family, living an average life.

We live in a decent house with many home improvement projects underway. They are the kinds of things that never seem to be as important as everything else there is to do in a day.

When I say "we" I don't mean my husband the kids and I, in fact I mean the kids, their uncle, their grandmother, myself and the odd Korean exchange student. Come to think of it we really are the epitome of the average family in 2009.

I work part time at a local flowershop, part time as a writer and I design jewellery and websites on the side just to make ends meet while I homeschool my two children ages 10 and 12. The thing I find amazing is that two short years ago I believed there was no way I could homeschool my children and make a living as a single mother.

I was wrong! Truth is I can work from home and homeschool all the while making a living. Although I still work away from home a maximum 15 hours per week, the kids are involved in many activities from competitive gymnsatics, karate, guitar lessons and art lessons.

I decided to homeschool three years ago when the public system failed my 10-year-old son. This past year we decided to add my daughter to the mix. Point blank I believe they are better off learning at home and growing as people in the home and situations I choose for them.

I plan on making this website a huge resource for other single parents who like me desire the best for their children.
